Duckies for breakfast
After my succes on the heads up tables last time, I tried some low stakes double or nothing sit’n go’s today. The luck I encountered last time was a bit absent today but I managed to get break even. I know what your thinking: “Donkeys again?!”. This time however duckies came to the rescue. Check it out :
Allows fun to hit trips with 22. Nobody ever expects it. Especially when your holding top pair with top kicker. I felt sorry for the guy but hey, it made me even more an animal loving person.
Can’t wait to find out which species will come for the rescue next time!
Donkey for breakfast
Got up early this morning. You know, with the nice weather and all and I decided to start this beautiful day off with some heads up poker. Little did I know that it was gonna be an even nicer day. Apparently not everybody is able to adjust himself that well to the early hours. I was able to win 6 heads up sit’n go’s in 90 minutes. For me personally those aren’t bad figures. Was it the new type of coffee I tried out this morning or just the fact that my contestants like to act like donkeys in the morning. Beats me…
Let me show you what I’m talking about.
First hand of the game. I start of with AA, which ain’t that bad. My opponent decides to shove it in with A5 preflop. I obviously call and win yet another heads up game.
I think we can all agree poker ain’t that difficult, is it?
“I love the smell of donkey in the morning.”
Student life vs. Poker
Exams, skiing trips, a shitload of papers to write…life of a student isn’t that easy ! That’s why I didn’t get around to playing a lot of poker lately. However, my last deadline was this morning. For the next few months I’m planning a lot more online poker activity because at this rate I won’t even be able to pay my boattrip to the UK halfway 2012. I’m still stuck at $60 which should become at least $100 by the end of the month. I promise to keep you posted on a regular basis from now on !
To get you guys already a bit excited for the next Olympics, I found this very touching promo of London 2012.
Decent start
Is this possible? Thé bussiest weeks éver !? Nevertheless, I finally got around playing some poker and I started my journey with some 9-handed Sit’n go’s ($3 buy in). Those were in the past the most favourable to me so a logical choice for a start. The first two went horribly wrong. I went out on the bubble twice but realised I wasn’t playing my best game. The third one made up for the first two as I was able to reach first place! At first, I wasn’t running to good in that one as well but the hand shown below got me back in the game.
All pretty standard. I have ten big blinds left and wake up with AA. I raise preflop and one player calls. On the flop I check, hoping I can checkraise which indeed happens. River eventually even gives me trips but let’s say this simple hand played itself.
These tournaments raise my bankroll to a magnificent $56.7 ! Which I think is a very nice start
Let’s shuffle up and deal !
Hi everybody and welcome at my blog. I just deposited $50 in my Pokerstars account and I’m ready to turn that hard earned money into a ticket to London. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you should definitely read the ‘About’ section! In the next months I’ll be playing various types of poker games, ranging from 6 handed sit’n go’s, MTT’s to heads-up cash games. I’ll share with you my experiences and try to find out which type of poker game fits me best. Off course I’ll keep you constantly updated on my bankroll. I hope you’ll enjoy this blog and stay with me on my journey to London
